India Prime Minister Singer (Manmohan Singh) may visit Bangladesh in early 2011. During the visit, 61 kinds of Bangladesh products exported to India were expected to receive zero tariff treatment.

The Bangladesh government has made a proposal to India to ask India to give up tariffs on some products, including 54 kinds.

Bangladesh commerce minister Faruk Khan also tried to persuade India to give up tariffs when he visited India.

He said India may give up tariffs when the Prime Minister of India visits Bangladesh or at any time next year.

The possibility of giving up tariffs is high because India and Bangladesh have reached an agreement in October.

He further added that the India government has considered abandoning 61 kinds.
