Through the cooperation processing with the two companies of Tsing Yu, we have obtained the processing business of imported fur products. However, due to their own reasons, the two companies have not been able to carry out the overseas leather processing business, and all the production equipment, personnel and facilities are in idle state.

What are the prospects for China's tanning enterprises under the influence of policies? Will the overall production capacity of the industry decline? Will this impact be pmitted to the raw leather trade, resulting in the change of the international leather economic chain?

In response to these doubts and concerns, China Leather net has analyzed the economic operation data of light industry in China in recent months, provided by the China Light Industry Federation information center.

Data show that in May 2014, the output of light leather industry reached 51 million 429 thousand and 700 square meters, an increase of -1.39% compared with the same period last year. The output of 57 million 138 thousand and 900 square meters in June, increased by 1.02% over the same period last year, and the total output reached 54 million 105 thousand and 700 square meters in July, an increase of 6.01% over the same period last year; the output of 51 million 310 thousand and 200 square meters in August, up 1.55% over the same period last year.

From this we can see that the introduction of the Ministry of industry's regulatory policy has an obvious impact on the overall output of domestic light leather, but it has maintained a growth momentum compared with 2013.

According to the data, from 7 to August in 2014, Hebei, Zhejiang and Henan provinces maintained the top three locations in the national light leather industry. The total number of three provinces accounted for more than 60% of the national leather output.

The data show that in July 2014, the total output of Hebei province was 14 million 643 thousand and 500 square meters (27.06%), an increase of 12.83% over the same period last year. The total output of Zhejiang province was 11 million 715 thousand and 700 square meters (21.65%), an increase of 17.69% over the same period last year. The total output of Henan province was 7 million 944 thousand square meters (14.68%), an increase of -1.2% over the same period last year.

In August 2014, the total output of Hebei province was 11 million 837 thousand and 300 square meters (23.07%), an increase of 13.82% over the same period last year. The total output of Zhejiang province was 10 million 483 thousand and 800 square meters (20.43%), an increase of 2.84% over the same period last year. The total output of Henan province was 9 million 640 thousand and 800 square meters (18.79%), an increase of 1.41% over the same period.

In addition, in July this year, the Ministry of industry and information technology announced the elimination of backward and overcapacity tanning enterprises, the list of tanning enterprises is also among them.

However, comparing the data, we find that although the number of tannery enterprises has been reduced, the production capacity and production intensity have not changed much.

Take the most representative Haining tanning as an example: since 2010, the leather industry in Haining has been promoting the leather industry's environmental protection in an all-round way, and the leather making enterprises have been reduced from 38 to 8, with the quantity being reduced by more than 70%.

The data show that the number of leather making enterprises in Haining has been greatly reduced, but the output has been steadily increasing, which has gradually reflected scale benefits.

Data show that the output value of leather industry in Haining has increased from 3 billion 72 million yuan in 2010 to 5 billion 370 million yuan in 2013, ahead of schedule and exceeding the estimated target of 5 billion yuan in 2015.

The actual situation from statistics and the key areas of leather making shows that the Chinese government's promotion and implementation of tanning environmental protection policies and standards will play a more and more important role in adjusting the industrial structure, allocation of high-quality resources and promoting the healthy development of industries. In the long term perspective of the sustainable development of the industry and the lasting competitiveness of the industry, it is imperative to rectify and upgrade the industry's environmental protection policies and standards.
