Garment Sales SituationChina'S Export Garment Industry

Recently, at the international clothing exhibition held in duydorf, Germany, textile experts warned that the situation of garment sales in Europe and the whole world is deteriorating under the influence of the external economic environment. In this case, the relationship between garment retailers and suppliers will be tested.

According to the data released by the German Textile Federation (BTE), the sales of German garment industry in the first half of this year (2008) is not ideal, and the 3-4 month is closer to zero growth.

Some small and medium-sized retail stores continue to place large orders due to the failure to foresee the difficulties in sales.

Sales of many single clothing categories are particularly poor.

In the face of sluggish sales, many German retail stores began to offer summer discount promotions in mid May, with larger discount and earlier time.

Data from a research institute show that the pretax profit rate of German small and medium sized garment retailers is only 0.9%.

The German Textile Federation analyzed that the deterioration of the clothing sales situation was mainly affected by the slow economic growth and high prices.

The price of oil, electricity and food has risen sharply since the beginning of this year. It has pushed the German pengpeng rate to more than 3% for several months, which has a direct impact on people's consumption intention, thereby saving money and increasing savings.

According to statistics, the average savings rate per person in Germany reached 14.8% of total revenue in 1-3 this year, the highest level since 1993.

The retrenchment reflects a worldwide phenomenon of tight consumption.

Experts point out that the sluggish sales in the first half of this year may exacerbate the tension between garment retailers and manufacturers.

Garment manufacturers complain about the stringent price strategy of retail industry, and retailers will further lower the purchase price of ready-made garments when they are forced to sell at a discount, and cloth prices will also be affected.

At present, global garment retailers and manufacturers are in the spring and summer 2009.

Experts warn that in this difficult period, retailers will be more cautious about ordering. Compared with the previous steady supply, they will pay more attention to mobility. The order quantity may be reduced, and the minimum order quantity will be discussed again.

At present, the manufacturing links of global garments are mainly concentrated in China, and garment manufacturers in Jiangsu and Zhejiang are the main suppliers of international garment and retail industry.

In the list of exhibitors at the duydorf fashion show, Chinese enterprises accounted for 57%.

At the d'aldorf's clothing exhibition, many Chinese companies say that the days will be tough when the renminbi appreciates, labor costs rise and international retailers keep down prices.

In the face of deteriorating international sales environment, especially the gradual loss of garment manufacturing profits, garment manufacturers must put forward countermeasures as soon as possible. How to establish new competitiveness and achieve industrial upgrading in brand building, fashion design and retail links is the most important topic.
