European Union Reminds: There Are Risks In String And Belt Children's Clothing.

Children may be in danger of being dressed in the process of wearing, so they should remind consumers to be vigilant when buying such clothing.

It is reported that the EU's market watchdog inspected more than 16000 related clothing products from 11 member countries between 2008 and 2010, and found that 1/10 failed to meet EU safety standards, of which 70% of infants and children's clothing accounted for. The European market supervisory authority often receives notifications for children's clothing strings and straps being entangled with bicycles, doors, doors, or playground equipment, resulting in serious injuries or deaths.

Traffic accidents statistics also show that such accidents can be divided into two categories according to age: in 1., young children died of suffocation due to a rope tied to their necks. 2. straps and bands on children's waist or lower parts are stuck on moving vehicles, such as bus doors, ski elevators, bicycles, etc., dragged or injured by running vehicles or cause death.

To this end, the European Union requires manufacturers, distributors, importers and retailers to ensure that their children's clothing strings and belts meet EN14682:2007 European standards or provide relevant safety grade certificates. Children's clothing, neck and head should not have strings, belts; 2, for children 7 to 14 years old, the neck and head should not have more than 7.5 centimetres of string. Apart from the shoulder strap, the rope should not be flexible. 3, children's clothing should not have a string of more than 14 centimeters at the end of the chest and waist. 4 or neckwear should not have a knot at the head and neck; children's clothing should be in the front, and the length should not exceed 36 centimeters. In this kind of related inspection, China's export products have been repeatedly informed and returned notice. According to the Statistics Center of the China Textile Industry Association, the number of textile and clothing products has been increased sharply in the 1-9 months of 2009. In the first 3 quarters, 153 reports were received, which increased 6.29 times compared with that of the previous year, accounting for 20.84% of the total notification to China.

From July to August, Europe and the United States announced the recall of the 63 batch of exports of children's textile and garment products in China, more than 80% are precisely because small parts or rope does not meet the requirements. In the whole of 2009, the United States, the European Union and Canada issued a total of 1404 non conforming notifications, involving 768 children, including toys, children's clothing, baby cots and so on.

The main problems of the above products are the risk of strangulation or suffocation in children's clothing, which violates the requirements of the European Union and the United States. The inspection and quarantine department reminds the relevant enterprises to do the following work: first, understand the requirements of the European and American safety requirements for the rope and small parts of children's clothing, strictly organize the production according to the requirements of the EN14682:2007 European standard, or provide relevant certificates to effectively improve the production management level of the children's garments; two, pay attention to evading risks when signing foreign trade contracts with the customers, do not accept defective designs, avoid claiming claims, etc.; three, the enterprises should strengthen the safety project examination of the product design and development, check the safety items of the first products, and the enterprises that have the conditions should build or jointly build laboratories according to their own product characteristics and export requirements, carry out the inspection of related safety items for clothing, enhance the self-examination and self-control ability of the enterprises, and effectively avoid risks.
