Net loss amounted to 8 million 400 thousand euros; 223 enterprises net profit totaled 19 million 300 thousand euros; 203 enterprises net loss 27 million 700 thousand euros.

The operation conditions of different sectors of the textile industry are quite different.

The net loss of textile production was the largest, a total of 8 million 500 thousand euros. In 2008, the net profit of the industry was 3 million 800 thousand euros.

The garment manufacturing industry lost 3 million 100 thousand euros.

The leather and leather products industry achieved a profit of 3 million 200 thousand euros.


The poor textile industry has brought unemployment and bankruptcy.

By the end of 2009, there were only 448 textile, clothing and footwear enterprises in Slovenia, 40 less than in 2008, 161 fewer than in 2001, and 12533 industrial workers, down 30% from the same period last year.
