Concept

IMD (In-Mold Decoration) is a new technology to decorate the appearance of plastic surface by placing Film film in injection mold.

At present, there are two ways to make IMD. One is to make the printed Film film into a circular roller tape, and install it into the injection molding machine and injection mold. It is like the label Label is pasted on the front mold surface to fully circulate with the movable type production. That is to say, it is called IMD (in the mold pfer printing and injection).

The other is to print the Film thin film after molding machine Forming, and then cut it into the injection mold to produce it.

It is called IML (injection molding in moulds).

This Film can be generally divided into three layers: base material (usually PET), ink layer (INK), glue material (mostly a special adhesive).

When the injection is finished, the Film and plastics are tightly integrated and integrated by adhesive. The surface hardness of the PET is 3H and it will be brighter and brighter because of its wear resistance and scratch resistance.

Among them, injection materials are mostly PC, PMMA, PBT and so on.

Cutting material

Flat printing -- ink drying and fixing -- sticking protective film -- punching locating hole -- hot forming -- cutting peripheral shape -- material injection molding process flow chart as follows:

1) cutting: the rolled film Film is cut into a square block with a designed size for printing and molding.

2) flat printing: according to the required icons and words, it is made into phenanthrene net and printed on icons and characters on the Film square block of the cut film.

3) ink drying and fixing: the printed Film film is placed in a high temperature oven for drying. The purpose is to fix IML ink.

4) stick the protective film: avoid the surface of the printed Film film during the process of punching locating holes, and sometimes need to attach a single layer or double layer protective film.

5) punching positioning hole: the hot forming positioning hole must be accurate.

The positioning holes in the shearing process must be punched in advance.

6) thermoforming (high pressure or copper mold): heating the printed film and molding it with a high pressure or copper mold in a preheated state.

7) cut the outer shape: cut the waste from the formed solid film.

8) material injection: the film that is formed after forming the same shape of the front mold is placed on the front mold and molded out of the IML product.
