Vietnam Will Establish Quality And Safety Plan For Leather And Footwear Products

The aim is to provide producers with a basis for producing more quality products and create a fair competition environment for domestic and foreign distributors.

Phanthithanhxuan, Secretary General of Vietnam leather and Footwear Association, told industry trade that although Vietnam's leather industry and footwear industry still rely heavily on imports of raw materials, P has never had its own standard to control the use of dangerous chemicals.

According to the Vietnam leather and Footwear Association, the industry produces 22 to 250 thousand metric tons of leather annually, of which 100 thousand metric tons come from domestic manufacturers.

< p > Vietnam has only a few inspection centers for leather and footwear manufacturers to inspect imported raw materials. As a result, some footwear enterprises have to check the quality of raw materials and products themselves to meet the requirements of importing suppliers.

Nguyenbichthuy, a representative of thuongdinh shoe manufacturing Co., said that before they could produce large orders, they would send their samples abroad for testing. If the test result dissatisfied the customers, the company would replace the new raw materials.

But Vietnam's imported leather and footwear products will not face such problems.
