The high street brand River Island revealed that it benefited from the two consecutive season of cooperation with pop singer Rihanna Rihanna. The brand's sales in the year ended December 28, 2013 increased by 4% to 839 million pounds, but the pre tax profit decreased by 10% to 88 million pounds in the year. Mainly due to the increase in investment in the expansion of UK and overseas stores, y and the investment in infrastructure such as IT, Ben Island, chief executive of River Island, pointed out that profits fell in the expectation.

As profits decrease, River Island still distributes a dividend of 100 million pounds to the brand owner Lewis family.

River Island was founded in 1948 by brand chairman Bernard Lewis, and Ben Lewis is the nephew of Bernard Lewis.

River Island currently has more than 320 stores in the world, with its footprint in Russia, Holland, Berlin, the Middle East and the Far East.

New markets such as Sweden, Malta and Philippines have launched exclusive shopping websites in Australia, France and Germany.

The brand is intending to deepen the Australian market and is planning to enter the US market.
