Bangladesh is the world's second largest garment exporter, after China, with a 6.8% share of the international market, the Daily Star reported on December 13. Bangladesh's textile and garment industry imports a large number of cotton as raw materials. At present, Bangladesh's yarn and cloth exports are also increasing rapidly.

From July to November this year, Bangladesh exported 80.48 million US dollars of yarn and cloth, an increase of 38.73% over the same period last year. In fiscal year 2020 / 21, Bangladesh exported $154.29 million of yarn and cloth, an increase of 15.52% over the previous year. The main export destinations of Bangladesh yarn and cloth are India, China, Turkey, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, etc.
